Super Smash Bros. Brawl Secrets

  • Selecting Zero Suit Samus

To use Zero Suit Samus at the start of a match, select Samus on the character screen and hold the following button before the match starts with the corresponding controller that is being used:

Gamecube/Classic controller: Hold the R button
Wii Remote with Nunchuk: Hold the Z button
Wii Remote: Hold the Minus (-) button

Note that this also works with stages like Mushroomy Kingdom.

  • Easy CD and Sticker Drops

First, acquire Stage Builder Parts Set B (Make 5 custom stages). Make a level where there are conveyor belts running into a wall, and a platform somewhere in the level that a player can stand on and stay there.

Plug in a second controller. Go into options, and set every item EXCEPT Sandbag off. Set items to high. Go into your conveyor-belt-level in a regular Brawl and have the second character jump and stay on the platform, so it's not in the way.

Now, when the Sandbags fall, they'll stay at the wall. Use your character (Kirby's basic A attack, repeatedly, recommended or another character that can hit many times quickly.) to hit the Sandbags over and over. Since all other items are turned off, only stickers and CDs will appear. This is the easiest way to get a lot of CDs/Stickers quickly.

  • Fight Crazy Hand in Classic Mode.

To fight Crazy Hand in Classic, you must reach the Master Hand in under nine minutes and without using any continues. Also, it must be completed on Hard mode or higher. If these conditions are met, Crazy Hand will appear alongside Master Hand at the start of the match.

ATHF Ps2 Game

Coming October

E3 07: Aqua Teen Hunger Force Zombie Ninja Pro-Am Impressions

You've seen the show, now take control of Frylock, Master Shake, and Meatwad as you battle your way through crabs and aliens.

Aqua Teen Hunger Force is one of the most bizarre cartoons on television. For the uninitiated, the series revolves around three major characters and their wacky adventures--a shape-shifting ball of meat not approved for human consumption; a sadistic, violent milkshake; and the spiritual leader of the group, a box of french fries with the ability to shoot fire, lasers and lightning from his eyes. Frylock, the last in that list, is also the brains behind the operation, although despite his best efforts, the team always seems to end up in trouble.

Midway's bringing the trio to video game screens, and a rep manning the demo we tried told us that although the deal with Cartoon Network to produce the game was signed several years ago, the project has been sitting on the shelf for a while. Slated for release in October this year and exclusive to the PS2, Aqua Teen Hunger Force Zombie Ninja Pro-Am is part golf game, part hack-and-slash, with a splash of golf cart driving thrown in to break it up a bit. It's almost as if Tiger Woods, Diablo, and Mario Kart got in a fight with a Happy Meal. Despite the name suggesting otherwise, Midway was quick to point out that the game doesn't actually feature either zombies or ninjas--apparently that's just the writers' sense of humor shining through.

The gameplay is split into a few parts. There's the obvious golf portion, but really that takes a backseat to what you'll need to do between shots. This golf in the game plays most like Everybody's Golf. All you need to do is aim your ball, hit a button to stop the moving bar for power, then again for slice--the learning curve is very gentle. The basic backstory is that Frylock is invited to join an exclusive golf club, and as usual Shake decides to ruin it for everyone. Next thing you know you're battling hordes of Carl's crabs with whatever weapons you can get your hands on. Special items let you mix the gameplay up a bit, replacing the golf ball with Meatwad, and hitting power shots with Frylock. Once you reach the green you'll face a boss or need to complete a puzzle to continue. The golf cart levels mix it up a bit and sees you thrashing around the greens, chasing the alien Mooninites and picking up weapons and power-ups. Shake is a melee character with weapons like swords, guitars, flammable aerosol cans, chainsaws, and a shotgun, while Frylock deals slower, but more powerful, ranged magic damage.

Each level includes a golf-sim-style flyover to show you the objective while ESPN's Scott Van Pelt and Cybernetic Ghost from the TV show provide commentary. The build we saw had placeholder audio and the demo area was too noisy to properly hear it, but all the dialogue has been penned by the same writers from the TV show, including original voice-over work by Dana Snyder, Carey Means, and Dave Willis. The final game will include 12 levels, nine of which are pure golf combat, two golf cart-racing stages, and a tutorial to get you up and running.

While the golf seems to just the cover story for getting you around the course, it does reward you for playing well. Scoring under the card awards you points you can spend on unlockable content, including three 11-minute episodes from the TV series, a never-before-seen episode of Aqua Teen Hunger Force made specifically for the game, and some of the live-action extras found on the DVD versions of the series.

Midway is expecting six to eight hours of single-player campaign, with additional time required to reveal all the hidden areas and unlock everything. Currently there are no official plans for going cross-platform, but we wouldn't be at all surprised if this one turns up on XBLA somewhere down the track.

.hack//G.U. vol. 3// Redemption Hands On

hack //G.U. vol. 3//Redemption Hands-On
The final installment in this latest .hack trilogy will offer fans a lot more of the gameplay they've come to love during the previous episodes.
By Brad Shoemaker, GameSpot
Posted Jun 15, 2007 5:24 pm PT

If you've stuck with .hack this far, you'll undoubtedly want to witness the resolution in the episodic series' seventh installment--and the final third of the current //G.U. trilogy--called Redemption. In addition to bringing closure to the storyline featured in this latest trio of games, Redemption will offer gameplay improvements and new features across the board that sound like they'll fit the bill nicely for diehard fans of .hack. This one seems as though it's being crafted specifically for those fans who have stuck it out thus far, since they'll see upgrades in just about every category.

The biggest new feature that we saw during our demo was a new "Xth" form for main character Haseo. This form comes about when Haseo's character data within the World (the fictional massively multiplayer game in which this series takes place) is accessed and modified by a mysterious hacker. The result, of course, is a new set of powers for Haseo that should be unattainable for normal players of the World. In practical terms, the Xth form will give you a pair of sizeable pistols with blades on their barrels that will do more damage the closer you are to an enemy when you attack them. You can also use these pistols to perform a "double trigger" attack after invoking one of your special abilities, which adds on just a bit more damage.

As an episodic series, .hack has always been big on reusing environments from one game to the next, but Redemption will offer a few new locales for you to adventure in. A couple of new root towns, Breg Epona and the Net Slum, will serve as the World's seedy digital underbelly. There will also be a couple of new dungeon types. One will be a junglelike environment, while the other, an "outer dungeon," will have a high-tech, Tron-like appearance. Finally, once you've approached the end of the game, you'll find a 100-floor dungeon that only the best players with the most powerful parties will be able to survive.

Luckily, the level cap in Redemption is moving up from 100 to 150 and the total number of playable characters will move up to 22, so you'll have plenty of room to expand your combat prowess. The developers are also adding a new awakening power, called the "avatar awakening," that you can use when your party is in dire straits in battle. This one actually serves as a data drain, extracting virus cores from your enemies that you can cash in to upgrade your weapons. All these gameplay upgrades will be joined by a new steam bike (along with new riding missions), new cards for the Crimson Versus game, and one new arena battle.

Redemption is slated for release in the fourth quarter, so fans can look forward to seeing .hack's latest multigame story through to the end at that time.
